As a result, college football fans across the country are learning all about the big in-state rivalry the team has with the Iowa Hawkeyes.The Iowa vs. Iowa State series, one of the most entertaining in the country, doesn’t get a lot of attention outside of the Midwest. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t one of the best there is.Saturday morning, ESPN did a four-minute feature on the rivalry. It includes some information about the early years, how the rivalry fell off for decades and the origin of the Cy-Hawk Trophy.It’s a must-watch for fans of both sides. This year, Iowa is a slim two-point favorite on the road. Both programs are expected to have solid seasons.As for the rivalry, Iowa leads the all-time series 44-22. They’ve also won the last four matchups between the two schools.This year’s contest will kick off at 4:00 PM ET and it will be broadcast on FS1. CEB unions suspend strike launched over Police attack

The employees later surrounded the office of the chairman and held him hostage. Employees attached to trade unions protested at the CEB yesterday after discussions with the chairman, W.B. Ganegala, over some demands failed. Unions attached to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) have decided to suspend the strike launched today over the Police attack on a protest yesterday.The Special Task Force (STF) stormed the CEB yesterday and freed the chairman after he was held hostage by the staff. A tense situation arose with some STF members, the Police and the protesters exchanging blows.Following the incident, the CEB trade unions launched a strike today to protest over the manner in which the Police dealt with the situation. (Colombo Gazette) The Police obtained a court order and the employees were told to release the chairman but the protesting CEB employees refused to do so.The STF was then called in and the CEB chairman was escorted out with Police protection. read more
